Refurbished training centre

Standard machinery as well as state-of-the-art machining devices have been installed in the new training centre of MOTOR JIKOV Group in České Budějovice.

Trainees and students are introduced to programming, machining, grinding and other operations on an area of 130 square meters. The new generation of training for engineering and foundry industry started in MOTOR JIKOV GROUP in 2007 as a reaction to increasing demand of companies for graduates of technical schools and their skills. The company currently has training centres in České Budějovice and Soběslav.

The capacity of the training centre in České Budějovice, which is equipped with a machining centre, CNC lathe, standard lathe, a milling machine, a surface grinding machine and three workbenches, is eight pupils. Besides these, other young people obtain professional skills and experience at the lawn-mower assembly department of the Mechanisation Division, in the maintenance department of the Die-Casting Foundry Division, in the pattern shop of the Iron Foundry Division or in Tooling Division and in the Single Purpose Machinery Division (especially toolmakers and locksmiths).

Students of the apprenticeship such as machinist, locksmith and toolmaker as well as graduates of the mechanic-fitter field attend the professional training. These are all students of the Automotive and Technical High School in České Budějovice.

“Evaluating the training centre operation from its establishment five years ago, we can see significant improvement in the attitude of young people towards work. The quality of work increases year by year. Our trainees were very successful presenting a variable speed gear of their own production at the national exhibition Education and Craft in 2012. I would also like to mention that the trainees were involved in building the training centre”, said Radomír Hrouda, the professional supervisor of technical education.
