Blog Young South Bohemians showcased creativity and skill in Prague

A unique and in many ways exceptional event, Talent pro firmy T-PROFI 2014, themed “__nápad – zručnost – zábava__,” was proudly supported by MOTOR JIKOV GROUP. Thanks to their support, a competition team composed of talented fifth-grade students from a primary school in Novohrad and second-year students from SPŠ automobilní a technické České Budějovice traveled to the Národní technické muzeum v Praze.
The competition was truly one-of-a-kind for several reasons. “Members of the teams only got to know each other on the day of the event. The groups consisted of elementary school pupils, high school students, and company representatives; the latter took on leadership roles instead of teachers. No participant knew the tasks beforehand, preventing any preparation. During the challenge, contestants had to apply not only practical skills but also their professional knowledge,” explained Věra Vrchotová, the HR development director of MOTOR JIKOV Group a.s..

Each of the three teams was tasked with constructing and operating a cable car from a polytechnic building set within a limited time frame. “Everyone eagerly engaged with the tasks. They not only had a fantastic day but also demonstrated their skills at a high level,” emphasized Romana Nováčková from the organizing Hospodářská komora České republiky (HKČR).
The team supported by MOTOR JIKOV GROUP, representing the South Bohemia region, finished second in the first edition of the competition, surpassing the team from the Pardubice region. The top spot went to the team from the Karlovy Vary region.

The inaugural professional competition was organized by the Hospodářská komora České republiky in cooperation with the Národní technické muzeum to promote the strengthening of polytechnic education in initial vocational training. The event was endorsed by the vice-president of HKČR, Zdeněk Somr, and the director-general of the Národní technické muzeum, Karel Ksandr.
