__ŠKODA AUTO__ launched the production of the __Škoda Octavia G-TEC__ with compressed natural gas propulsion in June. We had the opportunity to test the spacious interior, excellent driving characteristics, and low operating costs thanks to CNG before the official sales began.

“In connection with the market entry of this model, we are strengthening our promotion of our CNG filling stations towards the vehicle manufacturer and its distributors, but also towards end users, mainly from the corporate customer segment. For this purpose, we received the Octavia G-TEC from __ŠKODA AUTO__ for several days,” says Jiří Slíva, Director of the Division of Special Machining and Production.

The turbocharged 1.4 TSI engine is designed for burning natural gas and gasoline, with automatic switching between fuels. The CNG tank provides approximately 400 kilometers of range, while the gasoline offers an additional 900 kilometers. “It is expected that around 1,500 Octavia G-TEC units will be sold over the next eighteen months, primarily to corporate clients. They can save hundreds of thousands, even millions of crowns annually with a CNG vehicle fleet and their own filling station,” adds Jiří Slíva.

For corporate fleets, MOTOR JIKOV’s flagship filling unit MJ Variant Plus stands out. It features high technical flexibility, easy installation, and minimal construction requirements. It is primarily designed for users with an annual CNG consumption up to 60,000 m³, requiring rapid refueling, and preferring the convenience of home tanking over scarce public station networks. Full tank filling takes approximately 3 minutes. The MJ Variant Plus can handle up to 25 Octavias with 40,000 km annual mileage each.
