The division of Single-purpose Machines at MOTOR JIKOV Fostron a.s. has expanded its portfolio of robotic workstations with an additional device: an automated sorting system for parts from transfer presses for AMTEK PÍSEK.
This entirely new type of robotic workstation was developed in response to the specific request of the Písek-based company. The machine efficiently sorts up to 140 parts into magazines per minute, currently saving four workers per shift who would otherwise perform this task manually in the company AMTEK.
“During negotiations with a new client, the need for packaging automation arose. We won the tender with a proposal for a new type of robotic workstation, which we had not implemented anywhere before. The production was assisted by Tiesse, a partner in several other projects,” said Miroslav Kníže, Director of the Division of Single-purpose Machines.
The core of the entire device is a robot that sorts and positions parts from transfer presses. Conveyors move the parts beneath a camera system that sends control signals to the robot. The robot then retrieves the parts and deposits them into magazines on a rotary table.
