Motor JIKOV GROUP training centers continue to strengthen partnerships with secondary schools and apprenticeships. This year, for the first time, the final exam was taken directly at the Soběslav training center of MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská a.s. by apprentices specializing in tooling.
“Last year, we trialed this model first in České Budějovice, where the practical part of the matura exam was held. Both educators and our company see the benefits of conducting exams directly in the operational environment. Students have the opportunity to complete practical tests in familiar surroundings, on machines they know and work with during their internships,” emphasizes Radomír Hrouda, expert guarantor of technical education at MOTOR JIKOV GROUP.
“Everything is going well; I will finish manufacturing everything on time, so I believe I will pass the exam,” stated Stanislav Hadrava during his exam. During his studies, Stanislav was also a company scholarship holder, and upon completing school, he will join the Soběslav plant. “I look forward to it because school is somewhat more boring than practical training,” added Stanislav Hadrava. In early June, nine apprentices took practical exams in Soběslav.
According to technical drawings, apprentices had to manufacture a rejsek during a two-day, 12-hour exam. The assignments were randomly drawn from those designated nationwide.
Practical training at the Soběslav training center covers fields such as mechanic programmer, metal machinist, and tooling technician. Students and apprentices gain additional practical experience directly in the manufacturing process. The training center hosts students and apprentices in their 2nd, 3rd, and sometimes 4th year.
Approximately 80 students rotate through here annually, divided into groups. Each day, around 12 students practice under the supervision of vocational trainers from MOTOR JIKOV. “As part of expanding our activities, we are currently seeking a suitable candidate for the position of master craftsman at our Soběslav site,” says Věra Vrchotová, HR development director at MOTOR JIKOV Group a.s.
“We require at least a high school diploma with five years of experience in engineering. The candidate must know how to operate CNC machines and have experience leading a young team. Responsibilities will include instructing students during internships, evaluating their progress, and programming and operating CNC machines,” explains Iva Fantyšová, HR director at MOTOR JIKOV Group a.s.
The Soběslav training center began operations in 2012. The company built upon the successful track record of the center in České Budějovice. It signed cooperation agreements with VOŠ, SŠ, COP Sezimovo Ústí, and in the following year, with SOŠ a SOU Jindřichův Hradec.
