The series production of flanges for the new tenth-generation alternators and the rear starter flange for Mitsubishi Electric will commence at the Pressure Casting Division of MOTOR JIKOV Foundry a.s. at the end of summer. Intensive preparation and investment in machinery have been ongoing for a year. Most recently, the company acquired a Rösler continuous sprayer for 5.5 million CZK, which will be used in the shot peening process of high-pressure aluminum castings.
“The sprayer, which allows us to shot peen flanges for alternators, was one of the essential investments to localize the Mitsubishi project at the Pressure Casting Division. Another significant investment was the acquisition of a COLOSIO high-pressure robotic machine with a closing force of 1000 tons. We plan to continue investing this year, with over one hundred million CZK slated for deployment,” stated Miroslav Dvořák, CEO of MOTOR JIKOV Group a.s.
“We are currently launching manufacturing of the starter flange, and we expect to start production of the alternator flange around late August to early September. Mitsubishi Electric aims to become the exclusive supplier of alternators and starters for PSA in Europe,” said Tomáš Prášil, Director of Project Management at MOTOR JIKOV Group a.s.
The continuous sprayer, acquired as part of the Expansion of the Technological Production Center within the Potential Program of the Operational Program for Business and Innovation, will be gradually utilized in other projects and for shot peening existing products. “These include mainly cylinder castings for chainsaws for Mahle and an entire range of castings for truck manufacturer Scania,” added Tomáš Prášil.
