After Tábor and České Budějovice, a new public CNG filling station opens in the Písek Jitex area, serving motorists across the South Bohemian region.
Located beside the Jitex complex on a strategic route connecting Písek to Prague and close to the upcoming R4 motorway, this station is accessible to the public and fully utilized by city and suburban buses in Písek. It operates unattended and accepts card payments seamlessly.
The first transporter to deploy CNG buses in Písek's urban fleet is ČSAD Autobusy České Budějovice a.s. “We are constantly seeking ways to enhance our company's economics. Transitioning to CNG is our top choice for an alternative to diesel. CNG offers undeniable environmental benefits, especially in cities. Its use reduces operational costs, benefits from tax incentives, and is safer, nearly inviolable, compared to diesel. CNG buses also heat better, run quieter, and provide passengers with greater travel comfort. We’re considering operating around twenty CNG buses—roughly ten percent of our current fleet,” says Vladimír Homola, CEO of ČSAD Autobusy České Budějovice.
The construction is led by ZLINER ENERGY a.s., a subsidiary of ZLINER s.r.o., with over 60 years of experience in bus services across the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Europe. ZLINER ENERGY offers a unique, comprehensive service for building CNG filling stations, including station construction, payment-based gas supply, and vehicle fleet leasing. It is rapidly emerging as a leading CNG station developer in the Czech Republic, offering options for quick fleet renewal through sales or leasing.
The core technological components include a compressor station, high-pressure storage tanks, and a dispensing stand with a payment terminal for easy, cashless, 24/7 operation. “The heart of the station is the SV 1300 NG 1 compressor, capable of compressing 140 m3 of gas per hour into 4,480 liters at 285 bar. This enables refueling of all types of CNG vehicles. The station’s capacity can be doubled with an additional compressor if needed.”
Technological and service support for this new Písek CNG station is provided by MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská a.s. “Each new filling station is crucial for us, especially as part of our joint CNG project. We’re proud to develop and produce cutting-edge CNG filling technology, and the industry's recognition, along with motorists’ interest, confirms that eco-friendly compressed natural gas is a promising, sustainable alternative to traditional fuels with significant growth potential,” states Miroslav Dvořák, Chairman and CEO of MOTOR JIKOV Group a.s.
