Jihočeský strojírenský holding took part once again in the national exhibition Education and Crafts in České Budějovice, held during the first week of October. Over the past two years, MOTOR JIKOV showcased a chess-playing robot and an RCG (compressed natural gas) powered slot car track. This year, they opted for a classic lathe, inviting visitors to test their manual skills on traditional machinery.
"We are one of the few Czech engineering companies to have lasted continuously for 115 years," stated Ing. Miroslav Dvořák, CEO of MOTOR JIKOV Group, regarding the exhibition concept. "With this display, we want to highlight our tradition and emphasize that educating young, promising individuals remains a priority for us moving forward." The exhibit was prepared by students from VOŠ, SPŠ Automobilní a Technická České Budějovice as part of their vocational training at MOTOR JIKOV.
Every year, dozens of secondary schools, technical colleges, VOŠ institutions, and other educational establishments from across the Czech Republic gather at the exhibition in South Bohemia’s capital to showcase their programs to primary school students. Future ninth-grade graduates and their parents have the opportunity at the fair to choose a secondary school with a relevant specialization. Visitors can gather information from school representatives, companies, teachers, employment agency officials, and pedagogical-psychological counselors, as well as directly from students representing their schools.
"In recent years, we've seen a growing interest among young people in their professional future," said Věra Vrchotová, Director of Human Resources Development. "The most common questions concern not only potential earnings but also opportunities for professional growth," she added. "In our training centers, we strive to equip all students with professional skills so they can successfully enter the job market after graduation."
The gates of the České Budějovice Exhibition Grounds opened to over 7,000 visitors during this milestone anniversary exhibition.
