Blog The editor of Ekonom was interested in the apprentice training center.

Apprentice at the MOTOR JIKOV training center, their master Zdeněk Struska, and other company employees were interviewed by Jakub Horáček, a journalist from Ekonom magazine, for an article on supporting technical education. "He wanted to see how the training is conducted, so I explained to the apprentices, for example, how to input a new program into the CNC machine. He asked about experiences with the apprenticeship center, how we managed to integrate students and apprentices into production, how we fill the curriculum, and other information," stated master of technical training Zdeněk Struska.

The journalist visited the premises of the apprenticeship center in České Budějovice and also spoke with Věra Vrchotová, the Director of Human Resources Development at MOTOR JIKOV Group a.s. "We also visited our partner school VOŠ, SPŠ automobilní a technické in České Budějovice, from which all apprentices from the year come to practice with us. The most talented of them are offered scholarships," Věra Vrchotová informed.

"According to the analysis of the Pospolu project, which addresses cooperation between companies and schools, companies are not very eager to financially support apprentices. Although large companies like Siemens offer scholarship programs, up to 71 percent of firms are unwilling to contribute financially to student training. These contributions could increase children's interest in technical fields. The amount of scholarships depends on academic performance and attendance. Besides that, companies pay apprentices for the work they perform during practice. 'We provide scholarships up to five thousand, and the apprentice can earn an additional two to three thousand for work,' Věra Vrchotová from MOTOR JIKOV reveals. Some regional authorities also contribute small sums of money to support technical fields by implementing their own programs," wrote the article titled __Vyučit se technikem? Jedině když mi zaplatíte__ in the latest issue of Ekonom magazine, Jakub Horáček.
