Collective bargaining between union representatives and the company has successfully concluded after several rounds. “We managed to reach an agreement on all key areas. The most complex part traditionally involves negotiations over salary increases. In all companies, we agreed on an average raise of four percent. Additionally, by abolishing the super-gross wage, employees retain an extra seven percent in net wages. The increase in the base salary will naturally also be reflected in the higher variable components,” stated Iva Fantyšová, HR Director of MOTOR JIKOV Group a.s.
Overall, the holding company will spend 6.9 million CZK more on wages in a year than in 2019. Negotiators reached a quicker consensus with representatives of the Soběslav union organization. However, similar conditions regarding, for example, the change in compensation for full utilization of working hours, were ultimately agreed upon everywhere. “This aims to soften the strictness of the conditions. If there is a situation where one absence from work (e.g., one sick leave) lasting from 1 to 10 working days affects two relevant periods (quarterly), this absence will be counted towards only the first of the two affected periods for the purpose of entitlement to this reward. The employee thus will not lose rewards in both quarters, which would have been the case under the old rules,” explained Iva Fantyšová.
Consensus was also reached on how to divide the costs of the lunch price increase. From February 1, 2021, the catering provider for all companies in the MOTOR JIKOV GROUP increased the price of lunches by ten CZK per meal. The CEO of MOTOR JIKOV Group a.s., Miroslav Dvořák, decided that the employer will cover the ten CZK increase during the collective bargaining process. It was agreed that from June 1, half of the increase will be paid by the employee and the other half by the employer.
