In May, MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská a.s. launched series deliveries of components for the new Bad Boy Stampede 900 ATV from Textron Specialized Vehicles' portfolio. Textron, for which MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská a.s. already supplies parts for E-Z-GO golf carts, aims to capture five percent of the growing market with its flagship four-wheelers within five years. This translates to an annual production of 25,000 vehicles.
MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská a.s. secured orders for seven cast iron components for steering and suspension, wheel hubs, and brake discs. "All parts are machined in our facility. We successfully completed sampling and approval, and in May, we gradually transitioned to serial production. Currently, we plan to produce five to six hundred sets of components per month until the end of the year, totaling 4,000 sets; next year, this should increase to 14,000," stated Milan Vančata, Director of the Industrial Products Division at MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská a.s. "Currently, we are essentially working with provisional technology on both machines and fixtures. The customer is still making slight modifications to the part designs. Once we have the final design, we will commission series jigs and fixtures," added Vančata.
The serial delivery of components for the Bad Boy Stampede ATV is expected to increase revenues by 15 million CZK by year-end, 60 million CZK next year, and up to 100 million CZK within five years. "This project also involves investments. With current machinery, we can meet production capacity and productivity goals until the end of this year. To scale up production further, new machines will be necessary. The planned investments for 2017 include a new dual-spindle lathe, a horizontal machining center, and an extruder, totaling 25 million CZK," Vančata explained.
Until now, Bad Boy specialized in manufacturing electric go-karts, quads, and similar vehicles. Under the Bad Boy brand, they primarily offered recreational four-wheelers with lower power. However, the Stampede work machine features a classic nine-horsepower combustion engine powering an independent chassis with 4×4 drive. "Stampede is our base model. Every six months, we plan to introduce a new variant, culminating at the end of 2017 with a super-sport version capable of reaching up to 130 kilometers per hour. The Stampede’s maximum speed is up to 90 kilometers per hour. By 2021, the five planned models are expected to produce a total of 25,000 units," Vančata specified.
