The Czech Society for Quality announces an annual contest, the Manager of the Year in Quality, aimed at recognizing the best results of quality managers in the Czech Republic and publicly showcasing them. The title of Manager of the Year in Quality 2013 was awarded to Ing. Jiří Dráb from MOTOR JIKOV Group a.s.
The management of MOTOR JIKOV nominated you for this competition for your many years of effective work in the field of quality. What does this title mean to you?
It signifies an acknowledgment of my current work and provides feedback that what I do and dedicate my professional focus to makes sense and benefits the entire organization. At the same time, it serves as motivation for the future.
What brought you the greatest joy in 2013, whether professionally or privately?
It is difficult to pinpoint what gave me the most joy, because activities in the field of quality bring numerous small successes, which form the foundation for ongoing development and improvement of the quality management system. For example, I am happy that in 2013 we expanded our quality system to a new manufacturing technology for the automotive industry, and that this system subsequently successfully passed certification and customer audits. We successfully completed all certifications and received good evaluations during supplier audits, etc. The same can be said for private life, which consists of small joys that I love sharing with my family and friends.
The Manager of the Year in Quality contest is announced in conjunction with the international European Quality Leader award, granted by the European Organization for Quality (EOQ). The results are announced annually during the Quality Month and European Quality Week in the Czech Republic.
