On Thursday, March 27th, fifteen specialized educators from secondary and elementary schools in Tábor visited MOTOR JIKOV in České Budějovice for their “company day.”
During the morning program, they learned about the company's history and management, manufacturing programs, and technologies. In the afternoon, they moved directly into production facilities to witness the manufacturing process firsthand—from mold making, machining, turning, high-pressure and low-pressure casting, to single-purpose machines and the assembly of drum mowers.
Radomír Hrouda, the technical education coordinator, discussed with educators, among other topics, the cooperation between companies and schools and involving young people in the manufacturing process. Since 2007, the company has maintained three training and apprenticeship centers in České Budějovice and Soběslav. About eighty apprentices and students in technical fields pass through these centers annually. “We support education and talented individuals because further industrial development is impossible without them. Students from our partner schools participate directly in the manufacturing process, familiarizing themselves with real work life, regularity, meeting deadlines, and emphasizing quality. We work with students of all grades, and we observe how their attitude toward work gradually changes because they realize that adopting proper work habits is of great importance for their personal and professional growth.”
The excursion took place as part of the project “Development of Technical Education in the South Bohemian Region,” financed by the Operational Program for Education for Competitiveness.
