Students from ninth grade at Národní Elementary School in Prachatice visited the MOTOR JIKOV production facilities as part of the Technical Education Development Project in the South Bohemian Region.
The journey through the company's premises began at the practical training center for technical subjects at MOTOR JIKOV, where they met former student Štěpán Troubil. Coincidentally, he had met Minister of Industry and Trade Jan Mládek during an internship just a month earlier, when the minister visited MOTOR JIKOV.
"We came with a total of thirty-nine ninth graders. The students find the excursion very interesting because six or eight of them plan to study at the Secondary Industrial School of Automotive and Technical Fields in České Budějovice, where students go on internships directly at MOTOR JIKOV," said Dana Vávrová, educational counselor at Národní Elementary School, Prachatice.
The excursion was part of the so-called Technical Day. This activity includes a series of visits to vocational training workplaces at secondary schools, collaborating companies’ facilities, and manufacturing centers. Each participating school attends four technical days annually. A total of thirty-nine students visited the production spaces of MOTOR JIKOV Foundry a.s., MOTOR JIKOV Engineering a.s., and MOTOR JIKOV Fostron a.s. The manufacturing process was led by the training center manager Zdeněk Struska and technical education expert Radomír Hrouda.
