Blog MOTOR JIKOV will save hundreds of thousands of crowns annually on lighting costs.

< p>South Bohemian holding MOTOR JIKOV will save nearly half a million Czech korunas on lighting this year by gradually replacing outdated fixtures with new induction industrial lamps. 

Test operation at the casting plant demonstrated that the old 400W sodium lamps are excellently replaced by 200W induction lamps with half the power. Therefore, the first phase of reconstruction in České Budějovice was launched this year. MOTOR JIKOV used a 5% discount on the delivery of new industrial lighting within the Členi program for members of the South Bohemian Chamber of Commerce.

According to Miroslav Dvořák, chairman of the board and CEO of MOTOR JIKOV Group a.s., modernizing lighting is another step toward improving the working and living environment as well as the company's economy. “We will improve workplace lighting quality, but the savings are also significant. Estimates indicate that the investment could save us up to CZK 450,000 already in the first year. If the project proves successful and we proceed with lighting renewal across the entire holding, we could save up to CZK 1.5 million annually.”

It’s worth noting that MOTOR JIKOV was selected among socially responsible companies in a survey by Deník, the Czech Chamber of Commerce, and the Czech Agrarian Chamber, where energy efficiency was one of the evaluation criteria. “We continue to act responsibly toward the environment and to optimize the energy consumption of our operations in the long term,” adds Dvořák.

Lighting for the company is supplied by E-lighting s.r.o., a provider of induction industrial lamps and LED lighting. “Induction lamps are suitable for industrial operations, manufacturing and storage halls, as well as for commercial and distribution centers, parking lots, and public lighting.
