German manufacturer MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská a.s. has signed an exclusive sales agreement for CNG stations with AQUACENTRUM PRAHA s.r.o..

"MOTOR JIKOV now offers customers CNG filling devices and stations across a wide range of outputs from 5 to thousands of cubic meters of compressed natural gas per hour. Unlike competitors, a large part of our product range is developed and manufactured in-house. With this contract, we fill an important gap in our offerings with capacities of 20 – 100 m³/h and gain exclusive rights in manufacturing and selling devices developed by AQUACENTRUM PRAHA for the entire world, including the Czech Republic. This is a logical culmination of our very close and successful cooperation, and a strategic step to strengthen our position in global markets,”

Primarily, this involves compact CNG filling stations with capacities of 20 – 40 m³/h, equipped with one or two Trident 400 compressors, housed together with an optional volume buffer tank of up to 1680 liters inside a concrete container typically measuring 3.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 meters. The device, aside from necessary accessories, includes a modern electrical switchboard and automatic operation regulation with internet connectivity, enabling remote operation monitoring. It can be equipped with either a dispensing stand with commercial consumption measurement or a simple manual dispensing device. The system always includes a filling hose and an NGV1 or NGV2 outlet. The station will be marketed under the trade name MJ Compact Plus. Its design, construction, and technical parameters fully align with the concept and product line of CNG filling systems offered by MOTOR JIKOV, capable of meeting the needs of virtually any customer.

"The device is characterized by high flexibility in design and application, and can be delivered to customers according to their requirements in various configurations and variants. It is primarily intended for internal company applications for medium-sized vehicle fleets powered by natural gas or as a public CNG filling station for smaller locations,” describes Jiří Slíva, Director of the Special Machining and Manufacturing division of MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská a.s.

Installation requires minimal construction preparation and has low legislative demands, generally not requiring a building permit. MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská a.s. and AQUACENTRUM PRAHA s.r.o. provide complete solutions from initial cost estimation and design, through project planning, assistance during preparation, to installation, commissioning, and approval for operation. Both companies also provide warranty and post-warranty service within the Czech Republic.

The contract also includes a joint development agreement for new types of filling devices and stations, aiming to expand this inexpensive, environmentally friendly fuel that is often overlooked, and to increase its availability for users including large corporations, small businesses, entrepreneurs, and individuals.

Compressed natural gas, known as CNG (Compressed Natural Gas), is ordinary natural gas compressed to 20 – 30 MPa. The number of motorists using CNG as a fuel in the Czech Republic is gradually increasing. Currently, there are around 5,500 CNG vehicles here, including over 4,900 passenger and commercial vehicles. Motorists have access to 47 public filling stations across the country. One of these was opened this April by MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská a.s. and ZLINER ENERGY a.s. in Písek. Globally, more than 16 million vehicles run on CNG, and experts project an increase of about 50 million over the next decade.
