Blog MOTOR JIKOV offers internship opportunities for VŠTE students

said Tomáš Prášil, Director of Project Management at MOTOR JIKOV Group a.s., addressing first-year undergraduate students in Mechanical Engineering at the VŠTE University of Technology and Economics in České Budějovice during a company presentation. This was part of the longstanding collaboration between VŠTE and the MOTOR JIKOV GROUP holding company.

“Completing an internship with us is, of course, an advantage for you. We also have experience guiding theses with our colleagues and will be happy to assist you. After graduation, talented individuals at MOTOR JIKOV will always find opportunities for placement and growth. I, for example, started as a technologist, while Martin Dvořák, now the Director of the MOTOR JIKOV Fostron Mold Division, initially joined the company as a designer,” emphasized Tomáš Prášil during the lecture.

VŠTE distinguishes itself from other Czech technical universities with its strong focus on practical skills. The latest curricula for final-year students include an above-standard semester of professional internship, and collaboration with selected companies based on study fields is a hallmark of the entire program. Early practical contact and several weeks working in plants or offices enhance graduates’ chances of securing their first job. The same applies to further studies, should they decide to pursue them. “Theory and high expertise are fundamental; practical experience is an undeniable advantage. It’s your ticket to the labor market,” says Rector Marek Vochozka.

This is confirmed by Věra Vrchotová, Director of Human Resources Development at MOTOR JIKOV Group a.s. “Students familiarize themselves with our environment, and after graduation, they are ready to seamlessly integrate into working life. This significantly shortens their adaptation time and related costs. Since more students complete mandatory internships with us than we need to hire each year, we positively influence the labor market by providing graduates with technical expertise—graduates in demand,” says Věra Vrchotová.
