The South Bohemian engineering and foundry holding MOTOR JIKOV GROUP and the Ministry of Industry and Science of the Sverdlovsk Region of the Russian Federation signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on July 12. The goal of this five-year memorandum is to expand the use of natural gas (CNG) in transportation and develop the market in the areas of construction, manufacturing, and operation of CNG filling stations in the Sverdlovsk Region.
Today, MOTOR JIKOV GROUP is among the leading Czech companies in CNG technologies and compressed natural gas utilization in transportation, having developed its own product and succeeded in foreign markets. With this new contract, the company is now entering the promising markets of the Russian Federation.
"We have been actively building a network of CNG stations for three years, and expanding into the Russian market is a huge challenge for us. To optimally utilize natural gas in local transportation, particular attention must be paid to selecting the right technologies for CNG filling stations, considering the unique climatic and geographic conditions of the Sverdlovsk Region, Ural, and Western Siberia," states Miroslav Dvořák, Chairman of the Board and CEO of MOTOR JIKOV Group a.s.
The content of the memorandum also addresses the exploration of infrastructure in selected locations for the construction of pilot model CNG filling stations within the Sverdlovsk Region and the assessment of a potential joint Czech-Russian enterprise.
"We are convinced that natural gas has a promising future in the Sverdlovsk Region, as well as in other parts of the world. This offers us a broad scope of opportunities. We have ambitious goals for this newly initiated five-year period. I believe that this cooperation will contribute to strengthening the trade and economic relations between the Czech Republic and the Russian Federation," adds Dvořák.
