Blog MOTOR JIKOV has launched a new in-house CNG filling station.

The MOTOR JIKOV fleet has been fueling up with compressed natural gas (CNG) since mid-February at a new filling station located in the company's lower premises in České Budějovice. The installed filler MJ Variant Plus is produced by MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská a.s. and complements the existing station in the company's upper premises.
"MJ Variant Plus is characterized by its flexibility and variability, as well as ease of installation and minimal construction requirements. The dispenser is equipped with a large 1680-liter compressed natural gas tank, ensuring quick CNG refills for vehicles—in about two to three minutes, similar to a public filling station," said Václav Král, Sales Manager for CNG at MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská a.s.

More than half of the service vehicles at MOTOR JIKOV run on CNG. "Over the past three years, we have been renewing our fleet exclusively with vehicles powered by CNG. Out of a total of fifty-seven vehicles, thirty-five are CNG-powered, primarily Volkswagen Passat and Škoda Octavia models. Last year, we expanded our fleet with the first Škoda Octavia Combi G-Tec converted to gas directly from the automaker's production line. For 2015, we plan to purchase four more CNG vehicles. Our goal is to gradually convert the entire corporate fleet to CNG," stated Vladimír Dvořák, Service Manager at INVESTIX a.s.

The new filling station complements the existing one in the upper premises of the company. "With the current fleet, which includes several dozen CNG vehicles and forklifts, the previous station was no longer sufficient," added Václav Král.
