Blog MOTOR JIKOV expands its partnership with the American golf cart manufacturer

Golf carts from the world's largest manufacturer, American company E-Z-GO, will feature components produced by MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská and its Průmyslové výrobky (PV) division for the next three years. Both parties have agreed to extend the contract, which was set to expire this December. Additionally, the company will participate in supplying parts for E-Z-GO's new project—the large off-road quad Mongoose.
The volume of business for the South Bohemia-based company with its American partner is expected to grow by one hundred million over five years, reaching 220 million CZK annually. “Long-term collaboration, supported by quality deliveries, good communication, and technical support from our side, is yielding results. This includes not only extending the current contract under favorable conditions but also expanding cooperation. For us, this means seeking new skilled employees and investing in the purchase of machining centers and lathes,” emphasized Miroslav Dvořák, CEO of MOTOR JIKOV Group a.s..

The contract specifies a three-year supply of wheel suspensions, brake drums, and pedal assemblies. “An achievement is also maintaining agreed prices, as there’s often pressure to lower costs in long-term contracts. A novelty in this contract is the application of material clauses. We believe this will be advantageous for us. Material prices are tied to global markets and tend to fluctuate over the years, which will now be taken into account,” explained Milan Vančata, director of the PV division of MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská.

MOTOR JIKOV also collaborates with E-Z-GO on technical aspects, providing engineering and technical support during the development of new products. Through this partnership, the South Bohemia company secured a new contract to produce parts for the utility terrain vehicle (UTV) Mongoose. “This is a significant order. We offered manufacturing seven parts, and we secured all seven after negotiations. Some parts will be assembled into the Mongoose two times, some four times, increasing the volume of production,” added Milan Vančata.

E-Z-GO has been manufacturing golf carts in Augusta, Georgia, since 1954. Besides golf carts, the company also produces utility vehicles for logistics, healthcare, hospitality, and hunting applications. Since 1961, it has been part of Textron.
