The epidemiological situation compelled the AutoSAP association to hold its 93rd general meeting online. The proceedings were led by Vice President Miroslav Dvořák, CEO of MOTOR JIKOV Group.
“Not only could we not meet in person, but we also had to address the fact that since March, we operated without President B. Wojnár, who stepped down following his departure from Škoda Auto, ending his leadership role in AutoSAP as well.
The board had to steer the association’s office through a challenging landscape, engaging in negotiations with the government regarding the continuation of the AntiVirus initiative and its transformation into Kurzarbeit, securing optimal support for the automotive industry, establishing mandatory testing, compensation, incentives for vaccination, and providing assistance in managing production fluctuations that, besides COVID, also arose from supply chain disruptions, raw material shortages, chip scarcity, and rising input costs…
These issues fostered solidarity and unified the board’s outlook on the future direction and strategy of the association,” emphasized Miroslav Dvořák in his address to the assembly participants.
Members elected Martin Jahn, a representative of Škoda Auto, to the vacant presidential position within AutoSAP. Jahn returns to the role after five years, having previously served from 2009 to 2016.
Miroslav Dvořák highlighted the exceptional position of AutoSAP. “During the past year, the automotive industry was one of the safest environments regarding COVID spread. We kindly ask you to maintain this effort—continue convincing people of the importance of vaccination, prioritize prevention and monitoring. Sadly, we can rely only on ourselves… We employ 180,000 people, influence half a million jobs, and contribute a quarter of Czech exports! We have significant influence to advocate for what matters most to us,” stated Miroslav Dvořák.
