Increase in production capacity, reduction in machining times, higher work productivity, and decreased reliance on human resources. These are the benefits of the automated manufacturing cell commissioned by MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská a.s., Obrábění division.
The investment in the entire system amounts to sixty million crowns. It is the largest investment of the year within the MOTOR JIKOV GROUP holding companies.
"Enhancing technical capabilities and implementing robotization are part of the holding's strategy. The automated workstation meeting Industry 4.0 standards enables more efficient production with lower costs. This allows us to better meet our customer's demands for price reductions," stated Miroslav Dvořák, CEO of MOTOR JIKOV Group a.s.
"The line will be used for machining, deburring, and assembling threaded inserts and rivets for Valve Housing and Retarder Housing components, which we supply to our largest customer, the Swedish truck manufacturer Scania," informed Milan Vančata, Director of the Machining division.
"Until now, we have machined these parts on existing Mori Seiki horizontal centers, and all other operations are performed manually," explained Milan Vančata. The entire line includes two MAKINO a61 horizontal machining centers, a deburring station, a threaded inserts and rivets assembly station.
The entire workstation is operated by two Kawasaki robots. The delivery also includes a Kraintek chamber washer, which Soběslav already uses for washing various aluminum castings, primarily for the Scania automotive plant.
"The implementation of this project involves specialists from several companies and countries. It is a technically very demanding application, presenting both a challenge and a learning opportunity for everyone involved. Our technicians and engineers actively participate in commissioning, collaborating to solve the problems that arise during the startup process," emphasized Milan Vančata, Director of the Machining division at MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská a.s.
