After a record-breaking year in which the companies of the MOTOR JIKOV holding invested over one hundred million crowns in machinery and equipment, there will be no significant slowdown in the investment pace. For 2015, the planned investment plans of the companies collectively exceed a nine-figure sum. "We are investing an additional hundred million crowns into the future of the company. We cannot and do not want to stand still because stagnation is only a prelude to decline. The largest portion will be allocated this year to the purchase of new machines at MOTOR JIKOV Slévárna a.s.," said Miroslav Dvořák, CEO of MOTOR JIKOV Group a.s.
In 2015, investments at the MOTOR JIKOV Slévárna a.s. Die Casting Plant focus on expanding the technological development center and launching a significant Mitsubishi project. "We will supply castings of the tenth-generation alternator body and the rear cover of the starter. Products from MOTOR JIKOV will thus appear, for example, in vehicles produced by the Kolín plant of PSA Peugeot Citroën," stated Tomáš Prášil, Director of Project Management at MOTOR JIKOV Group a.s. Several million crowns will also be invested in adapting a new hall that will house the low-pressure casting machines.
Divize Slévárna litiny MOTOR JIKOV Slévárna a.s. is preparing the second phase of upgrading the sand reclamation technology, valued at 5.5 million crowns, which will further contribute to environmental protection.
Another major investment, this time at MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská a.s., in the Special Machining and Production division (SOV), is a horizontal machining center for the new Scania project. "It involves machining the gravity cast tube of the engine cooling system for a new Swedish truck model. We literally secured this project at the beginning of 2015, and it should enter series production by mid-2016. It will require the capacity of an entire machining center operating continuously," said Jiří Slíva, Director of the SOV division at MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská a.s.
Within the project launching new riveting tools, the division of Industrial Products (PV) at MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská a.s. is investing in two machines with a total value of ten million crowns. "This includes an automatic lathe costing 5.5 million crowns and a flanged lathe costing 4.5 million crowns. These machines will enable us to increase the production of riveting tools as well as parts. STANLEY Engineered Fastening (SEF) is a major multinational manufacturer of fasteners with production facilities in Europe, America, and Asia. It is part of the Stanley Black & Decker group," said Milan Vančata, Director of the PV division.
