Blog Czech Republic – Korean CNG Forum

Under the auspices of the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Jiří Ciencialy and attended by the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Korea Yeon Jae Park, the Czech Republic-Korea CNG Forum took place on November 5th at the Congress Center Prague.

The event, organized by the Korea Trade – Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) in cooperation with the Korea Institute of Machinery & Materials (KEITI) and the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Korea, aimed to bring closer the development and perspectives of CNG from various viewpoints on the use of gas in transportation.

The forum provided a platform for showcasing CNG technologies in transportation from Korean companies as well as those involved in this field in the Czech Republic. Topics such as alternative drives, transportation infrastructure, emission reduction, and examples of using alternative drives in transport were discussed. Representatives from Korean companies KwangShin Machine Ind.Co.,Ltd., Engine Tech Co.,Ltd., HYOSUNG Corporation, Exion Co.,Ltd, and World Power Tech presented their experiences. Karol Suchár, manager for foreign sales in the CNG sector at MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská a.s., shared insights into their CNG technological portfolio, innovation experiences in eco-friendly transportation, and economic improvements. The company is part of the MOTOR JIKOV GROUP holding, which operates approximately 50% of its fleet on CNG, saving nearly 2 million crowns annually.

The second part of the forum featured bilateral discussions on potential collaboration prospects between KwangShin Machine Ind.Co.,Ltd, represented by President and CEO Mr. Harry Kwon, and MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská a.s., represented by Karol Suchár. In conclusion, participants agreed that the event contributed to increasing awareness about the use of CNG in transportation and expanded opportunities for collaboration and experience exchange between the two countries, aiming for overall climate improvement on the planet.
