This visit was part of a collaboration between the school and the company, where MOTOR JIKOV is a member of the VŠTE Professional Council. The goal is to maintain direct contact between education and industry, allowing members to contribute to the teaching of practical subjects, facilitate student internships, and foster cooperation between the school and regional businesses.
"We highly value the invitation to join the professional council and participate in the school's activities. The school representatives are interested in our opinions, and they accepted this excursion invitation. We have numerous ideas for joint projects that will not only strengthen the relationship between the school and the company but also revitalize the curriculum and increase student interest in technical fields," said Věra Vrchotová, Director of Human Resources Development at MOTOR JIKOV Group a.s. and member of the VŠTE Professional Council.
During the nearly three-hour meeting, which included a company presentation, a visit to production facilities, and joint discussions, several intriguing collaboration opportunities emerged.
"There are several opportunities to involve our students in real-world practice. One example is a project on time-lapse documentation of casting processes, which we could start as early as March this year. We were also very interested in the idea of establishing a laboratory for chemical analysis, mechanical testing, and metallography," evaluated Ludmila Opekarová, Vice-Rector for Practice and External Relations at VŠTE and Chairwoman of the VŠTE Professional Council. She added that she particularly welcomes the long-term character of the planned collaboration between the technically oriented university and the industry.
