In November, General Director Miroslav Dvořák welcomed the first-ever delegation from the People’s Republic of China to MOTOR JIKOV. The visitors arrived at his invitation just a week after Miroslav Dvořák returned from a visit to China.
""Before my trip to China, I saw this country as a ‘strange’ competitor. However, I realized that they are standard competitors with whom we need to find common ground and communicate. It’s clear that we are already making progress — we met recently in China and today here at MOTOR JIKOV," emphasized Miroslav Dvořák during the meeting."
Chinese academics, led by Dean Liu Yongxiang of the Faculty of Economics and Management at Beijing’s North China University of Technology, toured MOTOR JIKOV’s facilities. "I must say we were very pleasantly surprised by the number of modern machines and the cleanliness of the entire manufacturing process. The extensive product portfolio and attention to detail are very impressive. It is admirable that you manage all this essentially without any governmental subsidies," Dean Liu Yongxiang remarked.
In addition to touring the company’s facilities, the guests learned how MOTOR JIKOV collaborates with universities to train the next generation of technicians. "It’s evident from the results that you do very good work and are willing to invest heavily in education support," noted Liu Yongxiang.
The Chinese visitors also inquired about the role of labor unions in relation to the company, the company’s costs, and the regions in China where MOTOR JIKOV exports. Last year, the company’s trade with China accounted for 2.2 percent of total revenue.
Participants in the meeting with the Chinese academic delegation at MOTOR JIKOV included Dr. Yan XU, a lecturer at the VŠTE Technical College in České Budějovice; Ludmila Řeháčková from the Office of the Vice-Rector for Practice and External Relations at VŠTE; Věra Vrchotová, Director of Human Resources Development at MOTOR JIKOV Group a.s.; Prof. Liu Yongxiang, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management at North China University of Technology; Miroslav Dvořák, General Director of MOTOR JIKOV Group a.s.; as well as academic professionals Dr. Hao Kai and Dr. Qi Hudečková from a Chinese university.
