The Bad Boy All-Terrain Vehicle Runs Thanks to Components Made in Soběslav

MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská has launched serial deliveries of components for the new Bad Boy Stampede 900 four-wheeler from the Textron Specialized Vehicles portfolio. The Textron Company, for which MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská has already been supplying E-Z-GO golf-cart components, among others, is planning to take five per cent of the growing market with its large four-wheelers in the next five years. It represents an annual production of 25 thousand vehicles.

MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská won the deliveries for seven cast-iron components for steering and wheel suspension and wheel and brake discs. “We machine all components in-house. We succeeded in the sampling and approval process and in the middle of the year we’ll slowly launch serial production. At the moment we plan to produce from five to six batches of components per month by the end of the year, which is 4 thousand batches in total with14 thousand next year”, said Milan Vančata, Director of the Industrial Products Division at MOTOR JIKOV Strojírenská.

Serial deliveries for the Bad Boy Stampede four-wheeler represent an increase of CZK 15 million by the end of the year, with CZK 60 million next year and CZK 100 million within five years. “Of course this business also means investments. The existing machinery is sufficient in terms of production capacity and work productivity only to the end of the year, when we’ll have to purchase new machines for the increased volumes. The 2017 investment plan includes the purchase of a new two spindle lathe, a horizontal centre, a drawing frame and a broaching machine, which together constitutes a total investment of CZK 25 million”, added Milan Vančata.

Previously, Bad Boy produced electric buggies, go-carts and similar vehicles, offering only low-powered leisure four-wheelers. However, the Stampede machine contains a standard nine-hundred combustion engine, which is driven by independent 4×4 chassis. “The Stampede is a basic model. They want to introduce a new version to the market every six months and the boom will be at the end of 2017, when a super sport will be released that achieves speeds of up to 130 km/hour. The Stampede has a maximum speed of up to 90 km/hour. The five models that are planned should add up to 25 thousand pieces produced in total by 2021”, clarified Milan Vančata.
